Skills for Regeneration
GENECON has been working within the Single Conversation™ process for many years, from advising on regeneration investment to supporting local and regional bodies in assessing and then addressing the skills needs within their organisations. We have supported a wide spectrum of organisations, from local community groups, through to advising national agencies on partnership mechanisms with local authorities and the private sector. Our own experience as a practice, particularly from our programme evaluation work, is that there are well thought through investment plans and long term renaissance and regeneration visions, but these are meeting real challenges in delivery, including gaps in the skills of those charged with delivering the vision.
Whether these gaps are linked to technical or generic skills, regeneration agencies are increasingly concerned about their capacity and capability to deliver their ambitions and the broader sustainable communities agenda. GENECON can offer clients a bespoke skills for regeneration offer, ranging from an initial gap analysis carrying out individual and organisational assessments of capacity and capability issues in support of the single conversation process; to guidance on sources of training/CPD to both responsively and proactively address capacity and capability gaps; design and development of training programmes/events for authorities/agencies to meet their skills needs; right through to the direct provision of training programmes/events to clients who need to both responsively and proactively address capacity and capability gaps in order to convince HCA of their readiness to deliver investment programmes. We can also draw on this expertise to evaluate regeneration skills interventions and events.
