Making an already 'Great' City even greater, in terms of its
functionality and economic performance, was the focus of a
renaissance vision developed in the City of York. GENECON supported
the lead design team in identifying the priority investments to
achieve wider economic growth through the City's two universities,
its key businesses and the City Centre cultural and retai
environment. Addressing the challenges of the City's movement and
accessibility, to link key economic drivers, open up long term
employment sites and create a world class learning and business
environment alongside its world class heritage assets, was a key
emerging priority in order to attract private sector investment
into the City.
