The central area of Stockton on Tees is a regeneration priority
in the Tees Valley. Despite development successes, such as the
Riverside Campus for Durham University, the town centre and
adjacent riverside area have lacked coordinated investment. GENECON
was appointed by Stockton Borough Council and One NorthEast to
prepare a Central Area Investment Framework to guide future
initiatives and secure maximum impact on local economic growth.
This integrated package of economic, housing, transport and public
realm investments provided a robust basis for future funding bids
and formed part of the evidence-base for the Local Development
Framework and Area Action Plan.
