The Department for Transport has confirmed funding for the
construction of a major new bridge crossing over the River Wear in
Sunderland as part of the city's strategic transport
corridor. GENECON led a series of economic impact
submissions to secure funding, initially through the Regional
Development Agency and most recently to reinforce the case around
the economic value of an 'iconic' design for the new
structure.
