Economic and Spatial Analysis
Urban and rural communities are constantly changing. Understanding how and why change has occurred helps inform future roles and economic potential. Complex economic geographies need to be fully understood if regeneration investment is to have maximum impact. New urban and rural dynamics arising through 'city-regions' and polycentric development patterns create new opportunities for economic activity and collaborative strategies.
A key area of GENECON’s activity is advising policy makers on economic and spatial prospects for towns, cities, sub-regions and regions. Analysis of key economic indicators together with assessment of current spatial drivers helps to identify economic need, inform future economic strategy and support project case making. Our work covers economic needs analysis, spatial studies and business sector assessments.
