David Tuck

 David Tuck is GENECON LLP’s Managing Partner. A chartered development surveyor and chartered town planner, David has worked at a senior level in economic development and urban regeneration for over 25 years. He is GENECON’s lead advisor on strategic regeneration issues, major project appraisals, economic development governance, spatial strategies and collaboration, and sustainable communities.

David has worked on many high profile projects linked to national policy, including Economic Development and Urban Regeneration Company establishment, New Growth Areas, the National Coalfields Programme, Growth Areas and Housing Market Renewal. David regularly manages large-scale high profile strategy projects and economic appraisals on behalf of English Partnerships, Regional Development Agencies and URCs. He also acts as a facilitator in reviewing projects and programmes on behalf of senior stakeholders.

Alongside David’s work on regeneration projects, he has led several major spatial strategy studies related to new and emerging policy themes including City Region strategies. He led the pioneering South Yorkshire Spatial Study and the Yorkshire Key Cities Study, seeking to align spatial and economic strategy to enhance regional economic competitiveness. He has worked extensively on regional economic development issues for most of the RDAs and many local authorities.

David also advises on delivery strategies and the establishment of SPVs in a regeneration context, including funding and governance arrangements. This has included new delivery models ranging from major urban development schemes and sustainable community programmes to innovative projects in fields such as renewable energy and business growth.
